What were those 2012 Kentucky Derby payouts?

Apparently many of you had the 2012 Kentucky Derby trifecta for $5, at least that’s what our search traffic is telling us! Congrats to all of you who cashed tickets on the 2012 Kentucky Derby, since so many people seem to want to know the particulars of the payouts, we thought we’d help out.

We’ve added the results chart for the 2012 Kentucky Derby courtesy of our partners, Brisnet.com, to many of our Derby posts. Charts are very useful tools in that they tell you the full order of finish, the final odds for each entrant, the fractional times of the race and many, many other useful things. Charts also provide the payouts and amount of money in each of the pools. At some point we’ll do a more in-depth post on charts, but in the meantime, here’s the information you all seem to be searching for!

Payouts are listed for a $2 wager. So, if you played $5 to win on I’ll Have Another you would multiply the payout times 2.5. If you had a $10 wager you multiply the payout by 5 (you get the picture).

2012 Kentucky Derby Payouts
I’ll Have Another: $32.60 to win, $13.80 to place, $9.00 to show
Bodemeister: $6.20 to place, $5.60 to show
Dullahan: $7.20 to show

$2 Exacta (19-6): $306.60
$2 Trifecta (19-6-5): $3,065.60
$2 Superfecta (19-6-5-13): $96,092.80

Multi-race Exotics:
$2 Daily Double (1-19): $817.60
$2 Daily Double, Oaks/Derby (9, 19): $731.20
$2 Pick 3 (6-1-19): $3,297.40
$2 Pick 4 (10-6-1-19): $31,124.40
$2 Pick 6 (2-4-10-6-1-19): 5 Correct: $3,161.80
$2 Pick 6 (2-4-10-6-1-19): $675,148.00

And now to answer some of the more reoccurring questions…
“$5 trifecta payout 2012 Kentucky Derby” = $7,664
“$10 bet to win on I’ll Have Another” = $163
“2 across the board on I’ll Have Another = $55.40
“2012 Kentucky Derby exacta box payout = $306.60

Another item of note, the multi-race exotics pay the same regardless of whether you play them straight or box them.
