Sunbean topped last week’s Brisnet Speed Ratings with a 107 in the Louisiana Champions Day Classic Stakes. Lucayan earned a 105 in the Grade 2 Hollywood Turf Cup and Ide Be Cool earned a 104 in the Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile Stakes.

  • Shared Belief 101, Ide Be Cool 104. These figures are downright silly!

  • One is a sprint on dirt, the other is a route on Cushion Track. I’ve always viewed figures as relative, and faster race doesn’t necessarily mean better performance.

    To “figures as relative” point, Shared Belief has run the two fastest two-turn races by a two-year-old this year, and I don’t how much more faster a horse can be when he’s already fastest!
