Week of November 1, 2010
By Dana Byerly, Hello Race Fans Co-founder

After much preparation and anticipation the moment has arrived… it’s Breeders’ Cup week! Naturally, most of last week’s activities were centered around the Breeders’ Cup, so to make it easy for you to keep up with all commentary, workout information and handicapping we posted a Keeping Up with the Breeders’ Cup resource page Raceday 360. We’ll keep it updated as new resources and information become available.

Elsewhere in the racing universe, Keeneland, Belmont Park and the Oak Tree meeting at Hollywood Park closed out their meets this week while Churchill Downs kicked off theirs. Aqueduct will open their fall meet this coming weekend. And this year’s Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver was retired.

On the international racing front, the 150th running of the Melbourne Cup is this Tuesday (late Monday night night here in the states) and we’ll be bringing you up to speed with the scene down under! Our Australian racing enthusiast Valerie Grash brings you a Ten Things You Should Know about the Melbourne Cup, an overview of the history of the event and a primer on handicapping Australian racing and look at this year’s field over at Raceday 360! If you need a break from Breeders’ Cup Information Overload (BCIO), we’ve got you covered mate!

Also upcoming this week, we’ll bring you a look at how to play the event from home, a Ten Things on the Breeders’ Cup Classic and bring you our take on the European invaders. our picks for both race days. We’ll also have a Breeders’ Cup History Watch at Raceday 360 keeping tabs on all the impending and potential historical events that could occur at Churchill Downs (we know for sure that the Ladies Classic will be the first Breeders’ Cup race run under lights, the rest will depend!).

At Twitter we’ll be bringing your our usual mix of observations and handicapping from @HRFattheTrack. Since several of the HRF Crew will be at the Breeders’ Cup we’ll all tweet from @helloracefans. What will we encounter? Hopefully some winning tickets, good times and the ability to say “I was there when…”, and we’ll share it all with you!
