The month of May is Thoroughbred racing’s time to shine! If you are a racing fan, you love the month of May.

April brings the final preps for Kentucky Derby and Oaks contenders. It also brings high-class racing throughout the country and the opening of one of racing’s premier tracks.

As we enter March, racing fans begin to sense the end of winter, which means the start of Triple Crown season. By the end of the month, we will be one month away from the big day at Churchill Downs.

As February rolls around, all five of the major winter racing circuits are up and running. From Florida to California, graded stakes earnings are up for grabs, including the first graded stakes of the year in New York, a doubleheader of Grade 1 races at Gulfstream Park, and nine graded stakes at Santa Anita Park.

The month kicks off with all Northern Hemisphere Thoroughbreds celebrating their official birthday. By the end of the month, all five major racing circuits will be running their winter meets.
