Congratulations to the connections of all the winners on both the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby cards! It was two great days of racing that saw increased wagering on both days and the highest TV ratings since 1992.

We hope you found our Derby handicapping and wagering strategy pieces helpful. Had you paid close attention to Getting the Derby Distance you could have had the exacta! Did you have any profitable plays, lessons learned, plain old luck? We hope you have something to celebrate from this Oaks/Derby weekend, if so, let us know, we’d love to hear it!

We also hope you enjoyed our profiles of the Oaks and the Derby. We’ll be bringing you more informative pieces about racing’s history in near future!

This week will be relatively quiet here HRF as we gear up for the Preakness next week, but we’ll have a few posts: We’ll have a look at dime superfecta strategies and a “Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda” about making a (somewhat large!) bet on a sentimental pick. Other plans include getting replays of all the stakes races on the both Oaks and Derby days on their respective “Picks” pages.

Until then, here are a few of the great pieces that have come out about the Oaks and the Derby:
